Stanford Language and Cognition Lab

In this experiment, you will meet a character named Taylor, who will look at some objects and talk about them. Your task is to figure out which word goes with each object.

Please ensure that your volume is loud enough that you will be able to hear the words.

We recommend using Chrome or Safari for this experiment (Firefox will not work).

First, you will see four examples in English to familiarize you with the task. On each trial, you will see four pictures of common objects and hear Taylor say an English word.

Please click on the object that you think each word goes with.
Note: there will be a short delay between when you hear the word and when your response will be accepted.

Since we are interested in learning under time constraints, each trial will have a time limit. Please try to respond before time runs out. If time runs out, that trial will be skipped!

Click the Continue button to begin.

You have finished the examples. You will now begin learning the new language.

On each trial, you will see four pictures of unfamiliar objects and hear a word in the new language. Please click on the object that you think each word goes with.
